Week 10_Raymond Trinh_ASA 150E

ASA 150E
Prof. Valverde

When I first enrolled in this course, I had no expectations besides wanting to learn more about the Southeast Asian experience during the Vietnam War. My parents were born in Vietnam and witnessed the Vietnam War firsthand. Throughout this course, we explored the Vietnam War, a two decade conflict that pitted a poor and divided Asian nation against the rich and powerful United States. Nevertheless, there were other equally memorable events that took place in Southeast Asia in 1975. Aside from the end of war in Vietnam, elsewhere in the region, also marked the start of the Indonesian invasion of East Timor, the rise of Khmer Rouge in Cambodia, and the escalation rebellion in other Southeast Asian regions. I’ve gained more insight about the Southeast Asian experience through the readings, assignments, and research for our final project.

How can I continue to educate others about the Southeast Asian experience?
